Our Approach

Therapeutic and Trauma-Informed Care

Jenevi Educare’s approach is grounded in an understanding that many children entering residential care do so primarily due to family breakdown, abuse, neglect, or because they have complex needs that cannot be safely managed at home or in foster care. As such, children are likely to have experienced trauma, disrupted attachment, loss, and repeated instability.

Our Care Model

Trauma-informed

Recognising the impact of past experiences on behaviour and emotional regulation.

Relationship-based

Prioritising safe, trusting relationships with consistent adults.

Predictable and consistent

Providing clear routines, boundaries, and expectations.

Individualised

Shaped around the specific needs, risks, strengths, and aspirations of each child.

Individualised Care Planning

Each child has a personalised care plan developed prior to admission and reviewed regularly. Care plans are informed by risk assessments, placing authority documentation and consultation, and by obtaining the views and voice of the child.

They set out how staff will support:

Children are supported to build resilience, develop self-understanding, and gain confidence at a pace that is right for them.
